2022 Happy Hideaways Holiday CAMPAIGN COLLATERAL

If you’re ever in Oklahoma, you’ll know that Hideaway Pizza is a favorite among locals. Their pizzas boast of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Hideaway pizza, which started as a small business now has numerous locations across 2 states - Oklahoma and Arkansas. Every year, Hideaway rolls out their “Happy Hideaways” merch which includes custom printed pizza boxes, stadium cups and t-shirts. They work with a local artist that creates these festive designs, and ship it to their branches across both states.

In 2022, I had the pleasure of being the “Happy Hideaways” artist, and illustrated holiday artwork that tied to the “Unwrapping a present” concept. My concept of unwrapping the holiday pizza box represents the excitement that a person feels when receiving presents on holidays. It makes the person opening the gift feel special and loved, and I wanted the Hideaway Pizza customers to feel just that.

My illustrations included depictions of fresh ingredients, holiday-centered icons, as well as their mascot, Kahuna. The inside of the box also had a self-portrait and a little bio about me, along with the history of “Happy Hideaways.” The pizza box was the first product I designed, followed by the tumbler and t-shirt. I took the same concept of “gift-wrapped” and tied the stadium cups with holiday ribbons, and stacked the presents high on the t-shirts.

It was really cool to walk into the Downtown Oklahoma City location in early November, and see these products in person! This was a very fulfilling project for me, and I hope to work with them in the future as well.
